For me, art is a late-blooming flower, petals slowly unfolding, surprising and captivating me with the joy of its intoxicating perfume.
My media is digital collage which means painting with a photographic palette of images gathered on my journeys around the world. Images layered together create something never before seen in the world ... a new expression of spirit, a feeling, a mood, a unique story.
I have recently begun printing my art on metal. Because the image is infused into the surface and not on it, the images take on an almost magical luminescence. They come ready to be hung with a float panel on the back which lifts them about a half inch off the wall and gives the piece a very contemporary look. Metal prints can last forever if hung away from direct sunlight and can be cleaned with a soft cloth.
The intention of my art is to create a web of joyful and peaceful connections, linking artist, art, and art lover with the Creative Spirit. The shared connections of art have the power to expand the human spirit and to touch and heal hearts which can then touch and heal our world.
I live in the glorious Sierra foothills just fifteen miles from Yosemite in the small community of Oakhurst where a vibrant arts community adds to the beauty of the land.
I hope you find the little bit of joy in each of my images.
